Last fall, we launched Time for Oregon, a campaign to win paid family and medical leave for all Oregon families. We named this campaign Time for Oregon because it’s high time to prioritize caregivers and to recognize the value of caregiving – and because it’s time for Oregon to make this long-overdue change a priority.

Last week, legislative champions introduced a bill that would create a paid family and medical leave insurance program in Oregon. You can read more about the release of the bill here.

Now it’s time for our elected leaders to hear from us directly – and we know it’s going to take a village to move Oregon in the direction where ALL families have the rights, resources, and recognition to thrive.

Please join us on Thursday, March 23rd at the State Capitol in Salem for a hearing about paid family and medical leave. Share your story and your support and help make it clear to our Legislature that Oregon needs paid family and medical leave now!

If you are interested in testifying, we will help you prepare — just email Sharon at sharon@familyforward.org to get started. And if you do not plan to share your story at the hearing, we’d still love for you to be at the hearing to show support for the issue and for the folks who are bravely testifying.  Remember, it’s going to take the whole village to make paid family and medical leave a reality for every Oregonian.

Let us know if you can attend the hearing by submitting your RSVP here!
